Paraguay’s ANDE presents budget for next year’s electricity projects [free access]

Paraguay’s state-owned power company, Administración Nacional de Electricidad (ANDE), has presented a budget of USD414.59 million for the execution of 25 electricity projects in 2021. Of the total budget, 49.6 per cent or USD205.63 million will be self-financed by the power utility and the remaining USD208.96 million will be sourced through external funds.


Almost USD221.9 million (53 per cent) has been earmarked for the execution of transmission projects and USD165.4 million (40 per cent) for distribution projects.


The remaining amount will be allocated to the areas of marketing (USD6.9 million), technology and logistics (USD17.1 million), and environmental and administrative management (USD3.2 million).


For the purchase of electricity, ANDE projects an investment of PYG3.3 billion, with an increase of 7.6 per cent in relation to the current budget.
