German engineering company Siemens and Italy’s Prysmian Group, in consortium with the UK’s Balfour Beatty, have been awarded two contracts for the realisation of a new high voltage direct current (HVDC) ElecLink interconnector between France and the UK through the Channel Tunnel. ElecLink, developer of the HVDC project, has awarded the contracts.
