The three transmission system operators (TSOs)—Lithuania’s Litgrid, Poland's Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne S.A (PSE) and Sweden’s Svenska Kraftnat, have agreed on a virtual bidding area that will make it possible to import electricity from Sweden via Poland by using SwePol Link, a 600 MW high voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission line that runs under the Baltic Sea to connect Sweden and Poland and LitPol Link, a 150-km, 400 kV line between Ełk in Poland and Alytus in Lithuania.
