Construction and execution of 27 transmission projects in Chile [free access]

Description/Scope of work: International competitive bids are invited for the construction and execution of 27 zonal transmission projects. The scope of the contract is divided into the following individual or group of works:

The individual works entail five separate contracts, the scope of which includes─

I: Construction of New Reactive Compensation Equipment (NCER AT). The duration of the contract is 30 months from the date of award. The total estimated value of the contract is USD27.87 million.

II: Construction of new New La Ligua substation. The total duration of the contract is 36 months from the date of award. The total estimated value of the contract is estimated at USD20.69 million.

III: Construction of new Los Poetas Sectioning substation and a new 66 kV Algarrobo─Los Poetas line. The total duration of the contract is 30 months from the date of award. The total value of the contract is estimated at USD5.54million.

IV: Construction of new New El Ruil substation. The total duration of the contract is 36 months from the date of award. The total value of the contract is estimated at USD6.96 million.

V: Construction of new 2x220 kV Gamboa–Chonchi line along with installation of the first circuit. The total duration of the contract is 60 months from the date of award. The total value of the contract is estimated at USD7.64 million.

The scope of work has further been divided into eight different groups (including separate projects). The bidders are required to submit combined bids for all the projects in the group, and not for any individual project.

Group 1: It entails three projects, namely;

• Construction of new 110 kV Maitencillo─Vallenar line. The duration of the contract is 36 months from the date of award. The total value of the contract is estimated at USD4.78 million.
• Expansion of 110 kV Maitencillo substation. The duration of the contract is 20 months from the date of award. The total value of the contract is estimated at USD1.74 million.
• Expansion of Vallenar substation. The duration of the contract is 24 months from the date of award. The total value of the contract is estimated at USD4.10 million.

Group 2: It entails two lots projects:

• It includes capacity increase of 2x220 kV Line Alto Jahuel – Baja Cordillera line. The duration of the lot is 36 months from the date of award. The total value of the contract is estimated at USD27.42 million.
• It includes construction of new Baja Cordillera substation. The duration of the contract is 36 months from the date of award. The total value of the contract is estimated at USD9.45 million.

Group 3: It entails three project, namely:

• Construction of new Epuleufu sectioning substation. The duration of the contract is 36 months from the date of award. The total value of the contract is estimated at USD13.67 million.
• Construction of new 66 kV Angol–Epuleufu line. The duration of the contract is 36 months from the date of award. The total value of the contract is estimated at USD5.41 million.
• Expansion of Angol substation. The duration of the contract is 18 months from the date of award. The total value of the contract is estimated at USD0.25 million.

Group 4: It entails two projects, namely:

• Construction of new 66 kV Portezuelo─Alcones line. The duration of the contract is 36 months from the date of award. The total value of the contract is estimated at USD3.30 million.
• Expansion of Alcones substation and strip enabling of 66 kV Marchigüe─Alcones line in Alcones substation. The duration of the contract is 18 months from the date of award. The total value of the contract is estimated at USD1.07 million.

Group 5: It entails two projects, namely:  

• Construction of new 220/66 kV Trébol Substation. The duration of the contract is 28 months from the date of award. The total value of the contract is estimated at USD12.10 million.
• Construction of new 2x66 kV Trébol–Ejército line. The duration of the contract is 36 months from the date of award. The total value of the contract is estimated at USD2.94 million.

Group 6:  It entails two projects, namely:

• Construction of new 2x110 kV Line from Caldera substation to 110 kV Cardones–Punta Padrones line. The duration of the contract is 36 months from the date of award. The total value of the contract is estimated at USD2.51 million.
• Expansion of Caldera substation. The duration of the contract is 24 months from the date of award. The total value of the contract is estimated at USD2.58 million.

Group 7: It entails three projects, namely:

• Construction of new 110 kV Cerrillos–Atacama Kozán line. The duration of the contract is 36 months from the date of award. The total value of the contract is estimated at USD2.20 million.
• Expansion of Cerrillos substation. The duration of the contract is 24 months from the date of award. The total value of the contract is estimated at USD3.39 million.
• Expansion of Atacama Kozán substation. The duration of the contract is 24 months from the date of award. The total value of the contract is estimated at USD0.97 million.

Group 8: It entails five projects, namely:

• Construction of new 66 kV La Esperanza─El Manzano line. The duration of the contract is 36 months from the date of award. The total value of the contract is estimated at USD3.86 million.
• Expansion of El Manzano substation (part 1). The duration of the contract is 24 months from the date of award. The total value of the contract is estimated at USD1.92 million.
• Expansion of La Esperanza substation (part 1). The duration of the contract is 24 months from the date of award. The total value of the contract is estimated at USD0.79 million.
• Expansion of La Esperanza substation (part 2). The duration of the contract is 18 months from the date of award. The total value of the contract is estimated at USD2.40 million.
• Expansion of El Manzano substation (part 2). The duration of the contract is 24 months from the date of award. The total value of the contract is estimated at USD1.74 million.
