Brazilian Celgpar approves privatisation of CELG GT [free access]

Brazilian Celgpar – a holding company owned by the state government of Goiás, which controls Celg Geração e Transmissão S.A. (CELG GT), has decided to continue the process of selling its shares in the latter, in addition to its holdings in other projects.


As per a recent study, CELG GT has been evaluated at BRL1.5 billion, while its privatisation had been planned since 2019.  


CELG GT participates through special purpose companies under the transmission segment. Currently, it owns Lago Azul Transmissão (50.1 per cent share); and Pantanal Transmissão, Firminópolis Transmissão and Vale do São Bartolomeu Transmissora de Energia, with 49 per cent shares in each.
