Ecuador’s Transelectric energises 138 kV Pimampiro substation [free access]

Ecuador's state-owned power company, La Empresa Pública Estratégica Corporación Eléctrica del Ecuador (CELEC EP), through its transmission unit Transelectric, energised the 138 kV Pimampiro substation, which is part of the 230/138 kV Tabacundo (Pimampiro) transmission system.

 

The USD39.2 million project entails the 225 MVA, 230/138 kV Pimampiro substation, and associated 230 kV and 138 kV transmission lines. The project will benefit more than 526,000 inhabitants of the provinces of Imbabura and Carchi.

 

the The Pimampiro substation was integrated with the Sistema Nacional de Transmisión (SNT) or the national transmission system by sectioning of the Ibarra–Tulcán transmission line.
