Indian POWERGRID gets approval for transmission investment [free access]

The board of directors of India’s largest grid network developer, Power Grid Corporation of India (POWERGRID), have recently approved investments worth INR22 billion towards various transmission projects.

 

Of the approved investments, INR11.84 billion has been allocated for the Transmission System Strengthening Scheme for Evacuation of Power from Solar Energy Zones in Rajasthan (8.1 GW) under Phase-II - Part-B1; INR5.7 billion for the North Eastern Region Strengthening Scheme-XII (NERSS-XII); and INR1.8 billion for the Transmission System for Power Evacuation from the Arun-3 (900 MW) hydropower plant in Nepal.

 

Investments of INR1.4 billion and INR1.2 billion have also been approved for the procurement of – equipment for the 220 kV Srinagar―Leh Transmission System and telecom equipment for an exclusive dedicated telecom network for National Transmission Asset Management Centre (NTAMC) respectively.
