Chilean CEN awards USD202 million worth transmission works [free access]

Chilean national electricity system coordinator, Coordinador Eléctrico Nacional (CEN), has awarded USD202 million worth of transmission works under the Expansion Works of Decree No. 171/2020, and Exempt Decrees No. 418/2017, No. 293/2018 and No. 198/2019. The transmission works have been allotted under engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) mode.


Under this are 15 transmission works, including construction of a second 220 kV line between Nueva Chuquicamata–Calama substations, and expansion of the Palafitos and Illapel substation works.


The winners are Cam Chile SPA (won four projects worth USD46 million), Consorcio Monlux Chile S.A. –Servicios Eléctricos Elecsa Limitada (won four projects worth USD36.5 million), B.Bosch S.A. (won two projects worth USD79.7 million), Pine SPA (won two projects worth about USD8 million), Siemsa Chile SPA (one project of USD3.2 million), Ferrovial Construccion Chile S.A. (won one project of USD25.6 million), and ABB Power Grids Chile S.A. (won a project worth USD2.8 million)
