America's Clean Power Association and US' ESA announce merger [free access]

August 24, 2021

In a recent development, the American Clean Power Association (ACP) and the US Energy Storage Association (ESA) announced that ESA’s member companies approved the merger to join ACP from January 1, 2022.

The merger will help ESA become a more forceful advocate for wind, solar, storage and transmission, and further ACP’s advocacy strategy by incorporating more storage industry interests.

The move is aimed at magnifying ACP’s efforts to promote the economic and environmental advantages of a clean power economy. It will also better position the renewable energy and storage industries by building a best-in-class trade association, which will be effective and able to represent all clean energy industries with a unified voice on a number of their top priorities, including the investment tax credit (ITC) for storage projects.

Ahead of the merger, ACP will establish a Storage Council that will guide the strategic priorities of the association’s energy storage activities.
