Vietnam’s EVNNPT starts construction of 500 kV facilities [free access]

State-owned Electricity of Vietnam’s (EVN) subsidiary, National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT), has started construction of the 500 kV Van Phong transformer substation and associated transmission lines.

 

The 500 kV Van Phong transmission facilities has been included as an urgent power project in the National Power Development Planning VII (Adjusted project).  It will help evacuate power capacities of Van Phong 1 thermal power and renewable energy power projects in Ninh Thuan, Khanh Hoa, and Phu Yen provinces.

 

The project entails the installation of two transformers with a capacity of 900 MVA each, six feeders of 500 kV, 13 feeders of 220 kV, and 26.1 km 220 kV line from 500 kV Van Phong substation to 220 kV Van Phong transformer.

 

While EVNNPT is the project owner, EVN subsidiary Central Power Project Management Board (CPMB) will manage the project on its behalf.
