Paraguayan transmission works to undergo ESIA [free access]

The state-run electricity company of Paraguay, Administración Nacional de Electricidad (ANDE), has begun the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) for the execution of the electrical transmission works for the Western Region, as foreseen in the region’s Transmission Master Plan 2021-30.

 

The works include the construction of the 220 kV Villa Hayes–Villa Real transmission line of 200 km, 220 kV Villa Real–Pozo Colorado–Loma Plata transmission line of 355 km, and the new 220/23 kV Pozo Colorado substation.

 

The cost estimation of the projects is approximately USD110 million, which is expected to be financed by German KfW and Fondo Financiero Para El Desarrollo De La Cuenca Del Plata (FONPLATA).

 

The ESIA process is being conducted by Rina Consulting Inc.
