Niger seeks consultancy services for 132 kV transmission loop [free access]

Niger’s electric utility Société Nigerienne d'Electricité (NIGELEC) is seeking international competitive bids for undertaking a feasibility study for the modernisation of the 132 kV transmission loop in Niamey city.

 

The World Bank, under Niger Electricity Access Expansion Project (NELACEP – Additional Financing), is financing the contract.

The modernisation works is divided into two lots. Lot 1 includes the extension of the Gorou-Banda and Goudel substations with reinforcement of the associated lines, while Lot 2 includes extension of the Niamey Nord and Niamey 2 substations with reinforcement of the associated lines.

 

The estimated time for completion of the study is 18 months, with the last date for submission of bids being January 20, 2022.
