Chile CEN issues international tender for 38 transmission works [free access]

Chilean Coordinador Eléctrico Nacional (CEN) or the National Electrical Coordinator has issued an international public tender for building and executing 38 transmission expansion works involving a referential investment value of USD162 million.

 

This process is part of Ministry of Energy’s Decree No. 185 of 2021. Key projects to be tendered under the call are the – new reactive compensation equipment in the Entre Ríos substation for USD33.1 million, replacement of reactive compensation equipment in the Laguna substation for USD20 million, and expansion of the 220 kV Don Héctor substation along with sectioning of the 2×220 kV New Maitencillo–Punta Colorada line for USD10 million.

 

The bases tender documents have been published online on the coordinator’s website. Both Chilean and foreign companies can acquire the bases between November 17, 2021 and March 15, 2022, and register for the tender process. Companies can participate individually or as part of a consortium or association.

 

The period for consultations with participants is from November 17, 2021 to January 26, 2022. CEN will receive proposals during April 11-13, 2022. Opening of administrative and technical bids is scheduled for April 14, 2022, while economic offers will be opened on June 29, 2022. The names of the selected bidders will be published on July 7, 2022.
