Cameroon’s SONATREL awards 225 kV lines [free access]

Cameroon’s electric transmission company Société Nationale de Transport de l'électricité (SONATREL) has awarded contracts to rehabilitate and modernise the electricity transmission network of Yaoundé and Douala, to China’s Sinohydro Corporation under the Projet de Remise à niveau des Réseaux de Transport d'Électricité et de Réforme du Secteur (PRRTERS).

 

The scope of work entails the design, supply and assembly works of the 225 kV and 90 kV high voltage lines around Yaoundé.

 

The World Bank is financing the contracts through the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) under PRRTERS. The duration of the contract is 12 months.
