GE Research and Prolec GE to install world's first flexible transformer in Mississippi

Cooperative Energy has teamed up with GE Research and Prolec GE to develop and install the world's first flexible large power transformer at its major substation in Columbia, Mississippi. This substation is part of a service network that serves power to over half a million consumers in Mississippi.

Hitachi to supply power reactors for 500 kV project in La Guajira, Colombia

Hitachi ABB Power Grids has received a contract from Colombian Grupo Energía Bogotá’s (GEB), to supply power reactors for the 500 kV Colectora–Cuestecitas–La Loma Transmission Line and Associated Network Project. As per the contract, Hitachi will be involved in the design, manufacture, transportation, installation, training and delivery of the single-phase, 500 kV line reactors for the project in La Guajira.

Jan De Nul bags contract from Ørsted for two offshore wind farms

ESCOM awards contracts under MOMA project in Malawi

Electricity Supply Corporation of Malawi (ESCOM) has awarded key agreements for the development of a 218-km transmission interconnector and Matambo substation under the Mozambique–Malawi Interconnection Project (MOMA). The interconnector will run from the 400 kV Matambo substation in Mozambique to the 400 kV Phombeya substation in Malawi, and also involves the extension of the two substations.

Advanced Polyolefins Industry company (APOC), a joint venture (JV) between Advanced Global Investment Company—100 per cent-owned by Saudi Arabia’s Advanced Petrochemical, and South Korea’s SK Gas Petrochemical, has awarded a contract for 230 kV underground cables in Jubail, Saudi Arabia to Civil and Electrical Projects Contracting Company (CEPCO).
