Viridian Group, owned by Bahrain-based Arcapita Bank BSC, has signed an agreement to sell Northern Ireland Electricity Plc (NIE), the company responsible for transmission and distribution in Northern Ireland, to a wholly owned subsidiary of the Electricity Supply Board (ESB), Ireland's premier electricity utility.
