Brazilian energy regulator Agencia Nacional de Energia Eletrica (ANEEL) has awarded the declaration of public utility (DPU) to two state-owned power utilities, Companhia Energetica de Minas Gerais (Cemig) and Companhia Hidro Eletrica do Sao Francisco (Chesf), a subsidiary of Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras S.A. (Eletrobras), for constructing transmission projects in southeastern Minas Gerais state and in northeastern Rio Grande do Norte state, respectively.
