The project entails the construction of the 115 kV Alcaraván substation with two 230/115/ 34.5 kV autotransformers of 180 MVA (3x60 MVA) capacity; construction of a 115 kV, 4-km double-circuit line from the new Alcaraván substation to intercept the existing 115 kV Aguazul–Yopal line, to reconfigure it as the 115 kV Aguazul–Alcaraván line; construction of a 115 kV, 25-km single-circuit line from the Alcaraván substation to the 115 kV Aguazul substation to configure the second Alcaraván–Aguazul circuit; and construction of a 115 kV, 9-km single-circuit line from the Alcaraván substation to the 115 kV Yopal substation to configure the second 115 kV Alcaraván–Yopal line.
