Colombian state-run utility Empresas Publicas de Medellin (EPM) has awarded a USD21 million contract to Swiss power technology company ABB for the supply of a new gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) transmission substation along with auxiliary systems and cables. ABB will also supply the necessary automation, control, protection and communication systems for local and remote monitoring and control of power assets.
