Lao People's Democratic Republic's (PDR) state-owned power company Electricite du Laos (EDL), jointly with the Chinese engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor—China Electric Power Equipment and Technology Company Limited (CET) [wholly-owned subsidiary of the State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC)], will install 230 kV and 500 kV lines in the Lao capital of Vientiane, in order to ensure adequate power supply in the region.
