The Energy Supply Improvement Investment Program–Tranche 5 is part of the larger multi-tranche ADB-funded Energy Supply Improvement Investment Program, which aims to strengthen the national grid of Afghanistan and extend it into the eastern provinces to ensure reliable power supply to about 4 per cent of the Afghan population.
