In August 2016, PJM, the regional transmission organisation responsible for managing the high voltage electricity grid for 13 US states (including Maryland and Pennsylvania), selected Transource’s solution — Independence Energy Connection (IEC) project — from among all the solutions identified by various developers to resolve the issue of limited power supply and address the market-efficiency issues in the region.
