Republic of Ireland's Electricity Supply Board (ESB) has successfully completed the acquisition of Northern Ireland Electricity (NIE), the operator of North Ireland's electricity transmission and distribution networks, from the Arcapita Bank-owned Viridian Group for EUR1.5 billion.
