Several members of the New York Transmission Owners group have requested the state utility commission to approve the construction and operation of new 345 kV lines and other grid investments worth USD1.3 billion to relieve persistent congestion in the state. Together these projects will increase the power evacuation capacity of the state's power network by 2,490 MW.
