The scope of the project includes the construction of the Nueva Diego de Almagro sectioning substation; extension of the Cumbres substation; construction of a new, 52-km, 2x220 kV line from the Nueva Diego de Almagro substation to the Cumbres substation; and sectioning of the 1x220 kV Diego Almagro–Carrera Pinto and 2x220 kV Cardones–Diego de Almagro lines at the Nueva Diego de Almagro sectioning substation.
