The Central Asian countries—Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan—are endowed with vast energy resources, including the large oil and coal reserves of Kazakhstan, the sizeable gas reserves of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, and the significant hydropower resources of Kyrgyz Republic and Tajikistan.
