PPL Electric petitions D.C. Circuit against FERC cost allocation method for Artificial Island project

PPL Electric Utilities Corporation (PPL Electric) has filed a petition with the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit (D.C. Circuit) for review of two Federal Energy Regulatory Commission’s (FERC) rehearing orders that have changed the cost allocation method used for certain facilities, including the Artificial Island Transmission Project, that are located in the region operated by PJM Interconnection.

The Maryland Public Service Commission (PSC) has scheduled two public meetings for a transmission project, which includes the construction of a 138 kV line and rebuilding of an existing 69 kV line in Virginia and Maryland. The meetings have been scheduled on June 29 and 30 in Maryland.

Exelon and PHI plan merger

Exelon Corporation and Pepco Holdings Inc. (PHI) have filed their merger applications with the Delaware Public Service Commission (PSC), the District of Columbia PSC and the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities. The companies announced their merger plans on April 30, 2014.
