UK government to ease OFTO rules for four OWFs due to COVID-19 delays
The UK Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), in its consultation notice, exempted the four offshore wind farm (OWF) generators in Tender Rounds 5 (TR5) and ongoing TR6 of the offshore transmission owner (OFTO) regime, from the prerequisite to hold a licence to transmit electricity, owing to the COVID-19-related delays in the assets transferring to an OFTO company.
