UK government to ease OFTO rules for four OWFs due to COVID-19 delays

The UK Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), in its consultation notice, exempted the four offshore wind farm (OWF) generators in Tender Rounds 5 (TR5) and ongoing TR6 of the offshore transmission owner (OFTO) regime, from the prerequisite to hold a licence to transmit electricity, owing to the COVID-19-related delays in the assets transferring to an OFTO company.

British Ofgem selects TCP as preferred bidder for Beatrice link

The UK’s energy regulator, Office of Gas and Electricity Markets (Ofgem), has selected Transmission Capital Partners (TCP)—a consortium of Transmission Capital Partners Limited Partnership (TCP LP) and International Public Partnerships Limited (INPP)—as the preferred bidder to own and operate a high voltage (HV) transmission link to the 588 MW Beatrice offshore wind farm for the next 23 years.
