The World Bank has signed a loan agreement worth USD470 million with the Government of India, India's state-owned power utility Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), and the state governments of six north eastern states of Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, and Tripura for the North Eastern Region Power System Improvement Project (NERSIP).
