Argentina liberalised its electricity sector in 1992, which resulted in the vertical and horizontal unbundling of the sector and the establishment of the energy regulator Ente Nacional Regulador de la Electricidad (ENRE). The Secretaría de Energía (SE), under the Ministerio de Planificación Federal, Inversión Pública y Servicios, is responsible for policymaking for the electricity sector, and the Consejo Federal de la Energía Eléctrica (CFEE) administers the funds for electricity projects.
