Belgian transmission system operator (TSO) Elia System Operator SA has announced that construction works on the Aachen-Liège Electric Grid Overlay (ALEGrO) project, the first link between Germany and Belgium, were initiated on January 15 following the acquisition of necessary permits and authorisations.
