Nigeria’s installed generation capacity stood at 13,087 MW at the end of 2020, of which 82 per cent comes from thermal energy, and the remaining 18 per cent is hydro-based. The country added close to 587 MW between 2016 and 2020, of which hydro-based generation grew the fastest at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4.64 per cent.
