The government of the state of Santa Catarina, Brazil, through the Instituto do Meio Ambiente (IMA) or Institute for the Environment has issued the Licença Ambiental de Instalação (LAI) or Environmental Installation License to Neoenergia—a subsidiary of Spain's Iberdrola—for the 525 kV Joinville Sul–Itajaí II–Biguaçu Transmission Line and Associated Network Project in Brazil.
