Siemens has installed an upgraded control system, including its modular multi-level converter (MMC) system, for the Trans Bay Cable (TBC) project, as a technology partner for the same. The upgraded system is the first such project initiated in the US and is being developed by SteelRiver Transmission Company, LLC.
