The project entails development of a transmission system for the evacuation of power from the 4,000 MW Krishnapatnam ultra mega power project (UMPP) being built in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, and export of power from various upcoming independent power producers (IPPs) in the Southern Region (SR) of India to various beneficiaries in Western (WR) and Northern regions (NR).
