Chinese grid company, State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC), has awarded contracts to Switzerland-based ABB to supply advanced high voltage direct current (HVDC) transformers and other HV equipment for three 800 kV ultra HVDC (UHVDC) transmission lines—Shaanxi–Wuhan, Yazhong–Nanchang and Qinghai–Henan.
